Main objective: To promote innovations and technologies for production of high quality fish products for domestic and International markets in the Lake Victoria basin, Tanzania.

Specific objectives:
i.     To identify, characterize and quantify hazards in the fish value chains.
ii.    To develop a proto-type for value additions of Nile perch and sardines products and by- products.
iii.   To apply innovation platforms and technologies for improving the quality and safety of fish and fish products.
iv.   To develop and apply new business models for domestic and international markets for Nile perch and sardines.
v.    To disseminate research findings and formulate evidence-based recommendations appropriate for policy actions.
